Interview with the Djinn Part 7

"How did your people prepare for war?"

"The same way the angels did it, but in a rushed manner. Spellblades, advanced armors and weapons, arguably our war was fought with technology similar to some of your people's "science fiction" weaponry, though to the humans of that time things like rifles and plans would be magic to them..."

I nodded and continued to write my notes. "You said you weren't involved in the war in the army?"

"Correct, the word you use is civilian."

"but you were entrapped in a crystal."

"Correct."

"Do you think there are other D'jinn still around?"

"Possibly. It's hard to tell. In my time we could sense other magically inclined beings across continents, but here and now it's as though there were a fog in the way and I can only sense out a few furlongs, and even that is fuzzy.......and... I hear no one else."

"Would you like to take a break?"

"For now...yes......Have you given any more thought to your second wish?"

"Somewhat, however I'm unsure about it."

The D'jinn tilted its head some, a flicker of puzzlement crossing its face.

"And?"

"I'm considering whether or not you could turn me into a Djinn."

"That is a bit of a challenge.... choosing to become a D'jinn.... while not impossible would take much time, and teaching."

I shrugged. "The better question.... are you even able to grant such a wish?"

It was Sul's turn to shrug as it actually mulled over the question and possibilities. "Yes...well..I could start the transition, but it would take many years, it would start with a change in perception, then you'd be able to manipulate magical energies... that would take training once the ability manifested else it could run rampant and injure yourself."

"Sounds interesting so far. What else?"

"You'd never be able to go back. Right now, as you are you can still be a normal human being, if you were to go through with the wish however... you would be different....forever, or until someone killed you."

"....well that's rather abrupt."

"Like I told you, as far as I know, D'jinn do not die of old age."

"I suppose I'll have to think over my second wish a bit more thoroughly...."

"That's entirely up to you."

"Yeah I'll have to think it over some more."
